I believe dog training is for everyone and should be accessible to everyone.
While training is an investment, up dog aims to offer quality services at affordable rates. I provide various options for private lessons to serve owners throughout the community.
Dog Training Programs
The Good Boy – Basic Dog Training
4 lessons in-home or at the location of your choice
Basic obedience & on-leash training
Teach your dog how to:
- Walk politely on a leash
- Practice manners & calmness around you, your house guests, & strangers
- Perform basics such as sit, down, place & stay until released
This program is great for humans who:
- Just got a dog & want to start off on the right foot
- Want to teach their dog the basics or brush up on previous training
- Want to start walking their dog (& stop being walked by their dog)
- Need help communicating boundaries — for example, if your dog is jumping, begging, getting into things, or demanding your attention 24/7
Investment: $500 (training tools included)
The Best Boy – Dog Therapy and Off-Leash Training
7 lessons in-home or at the location of your choice
Basic obedience & on-leash training
PLUS dog therapy, behavior modification & e-collar training
This program is designed to help you & your dog be the best you can be & achieve all your goals, or for dogs & owners who are seeking healing. This program is longer, giving us time to work towards more advanced goals or work through dog therapy for dogs who need a little extra time.
Having an aggressive, reactive, or very anxious dog takes a toll on everyone in the home. If this sounds like your situation, please know it can get better than you ever imagined.
This program is for humans:
- Who are struggling with their dog’s reactivity, aggression, anxiety, or any extreme behaviors around other humans or animals
- Who feel anxious, frustrated, or embarrassed by their dogs— you’re not alone!
OR
- Who want their dog to be the absolute best they can be
- Who have off-leash goals, for example, long walks on the beach, adventure hikes, & freely exploring a large unfenced property
Investment: $1000 (training tools included)
or $800 without e-collar (or off leash) training
The Baby Boy – Puppy Training
4 lessons / For puppies 5 months & younger
It’s never too early to start training! Proactive is the best way to be with your dog. We can work through bad habits later in life, or we can start building good habits while they’re young and highly impressionable. This program is all about starting off on the right foot & teaching owners how to build strong relationships with their pups.
Work with your new puppy on:
- Building a relationship where your puppy loves to engage with you
- Basic commands like sit, down, place, & come
- Creating lasting habits & routines
- Potty training, house-breaking, & crate training
- Socializing your puppy to the big, huge world to help them develop into a secure & confident adult dog
Investment: $350
Not ready to commit to a full program or just looking for one lesson?
Schedule one lesson for $125. If you decide you’d like to book a program after, $25 will be applied to your program.

Virtual lessons are 50% off and offered via Zoom or FaceTime. Tools are not included, but I will guide you in purchasing recommended tools if/when needed.
Lessons at Ashley River Park in Summerville are 30% off.
Other things to note about dog training programs:
All lessons are in the client’s home unless specified otherwise. If and when you & your dog are ready, we can meet in public for higher distraction training at the location of your choosing.
Lessons are typically 45-75 minutes long.
You are expected to work on homework with your dog in between lessons. Progress is impossible if you don’t.
I do my best to point people to the program that makes the most sense for their needs and goals, but sometimes we need more lessons or a refresher months or years later. I offer pay-per-lesson options for any previous clients.
